It is one of the most spectacular district of Jharkhand state that has the epitome of being the sub- Capital of this State. Dumka – as the name suggests is a district surrounded, within lofty hills and exotic forest. This land of temples is also a famous health hill resort situated at a height of 472 ft. above sea level. It has an excellent climate and beautiful scenery all around in it. The district is an ideal blend where one can find a blend of nature’s glory and a heritage of glorious past of Indian tradition. It is quite natural that enthusiasts and tourist freak from various other place to pay a visit to this town. Atop the hills of “Damin-e-Koh” this area is full of several mountain, rivers and valleys. One can surely appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of this town. This district is very important from the religious point of view. People from different states visit the religious, historical and archacological place of this district. Baba Basukinath Temple, Maluti Temple etc. find mention in the diaries of all the traditional devotees. The district is perhaps one among the earliest once to play leading role in freedom moment. Dating back to the year of 1785 and running down to 1855 or to 1942, huge sentiments are attached that can surely mesmerize enormous patriotic fervour of yours. Share in the economy of the country is taken care by the presence of ample agriculture produces and prolific minerals in this naturally rice and beautiful district. Building materials are abundantly found here which can play leading role from the industrial point of view. Vegetables like tomato, potato, jack fruits, spinach, brinjal, cauliflowers have an exotic presence. It is quite possible that the tomato ketchup at homes could have been delicased from tomatoes routed through Dumka. More than 30% of this district is forest area. It is full of medicinal plants and tree. Tall bamboo trees could be the sparking light for forest based industries. Deep inside, one can find Taser Silk Plantations too, amply suitable for apparel processing centres. Unlike Metros this city has the narrow lanes, crouched buildings, small markets etc. But here one can find a deep sense of affection among people. Every one over here has “time” for everyone. The town has preserved the basic ethics of Indian culture, the traditional Indian gathering and the same conservative living peculiar to our society which is gradually escaping from the new India.
